Tec Labs Wins WOW Innovation Award

Medicated wipes treat bites and stings

Tec Labs has won prestigious award recognizing innovation for its newest product, Tecnu Bites & Stings Medicated Itch & Pain Relief Wipes. The new product, which launched this year, received the World of Wipes Innovation Award at the tenth World of Wipes International Conference this month in Chicago, IL.

The award is given by the Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry® (INDA) to a product that “demonstrates creativity, novelty, uniqueness and technical sophistication.” The winner was selected by attendees of the conference.

One side of the award-winning medicated wipes is textured while the other is smooth. The individually wrapped towels are infused with a homeopathic medication to give immediate relief from insect bites and stings. Tecnu Textures is the name given to the trademarked technology.

The active ingredients are: Grindelia robusta 3X – Purpose: Anti-itch/skin protection, Plantago major 4X – Purpose: Anti-itch/pain-relieving/wound healing, Calendula officinalis 3X – Purpose: Wound healing/scar prevention.

Past winners of the award include Shark Tank favorite, Dude Wipes®, and the Windex® All-in-One Glass Cleaning Tool.

Tec Labs is no stranger to innovation. The company’s first product, invented in 1962, was Tecnu Original Outdoor Skin Cleanser. Tecnu Original was the first product sold to remove urushiol, the rash-causing substance from poison ivy and oak plants, from skin.  Another innovation was homeopathic Licefreee Spray, which uses sodium chloride as a highly effective, non-toxic, homeopathic active ingredient to safely kill head lice.
